FOIL

Foil is a lightweight weapon with a small guard. The target for foil is the torso. The tip of the foil is flat and spring-loaded, and must come in contact with the silver "lamé" to score a point.
Foil fencing has rules of priority (or 'right of way') to determine which fencer has priority and wins the point.
Foil is the most common weapon in competition and often the first weapon for beginners to learn the rules and accurate technique.
